I've been busy somewhat with work, but I've just been asked to shoot a group portrait of about 40-50 people - so I've had to bite the bullet and gets myself a wide angle lens... so tomorrow morning, I'm off to pick up my new toy - the sigma 12-24 ultra wide zoom :) :) :) :)

just thought i'd share.. I've always wanted to get into landscapes - and now I have an excuse :p

I love this lens and have been aiming it for awhile. My only concern is that we are not able to put a filter to protect the front element

Yeah. You really have to be careful with this baby. Loupgarou has one and I tried it. Fantastic!

well, since none of my lenses have filters on the front elements - I don't normally worry. most of the time you gotta seriously do something to damage the front.

Is there any vignetting at the wide end?

That will be great!! I was so surprised to see the serious vignetting on the widest end of the D70 kit lens.
