This is the first (and only) shot of my 240 gallon tank. The rest of my shots where of classic cars but that's not the issue here. I didn't raed the manual...just grabbed the camera and starting shooting. No wonder I'm not happy with most of the images that came out :(

Camera = Minolta Dimage A1
Mode = P (program)
Aperature = unknown...actually I just forgot what it was :oops:
Image quality = fine
Flash = yes internal
Tripod = no
Technique = Tried to hold camera steady, turned on flash, slightly depress shutter to allow camera to adjust focus, aperature, etc etc. Snap picture.

Well, if you have a lot of light in your aquarium, I don't think you needed flash.

But if you're gonna use flash, I'd say put a diffusing object in front of it, or reflect it away from directly at the aquarium. The picture is overexposed, but the tank is beautiful so try it again without flash and post it for us!

Thx,
Tony

You'll also want to level off the cam. Notice how the tank is cockeyed in the pic. Try to compose the shot better, and you'll have a full-tank shot that you'll like a lot more. Also, I agree with Tony about the flash. Try to either bounce it or diffuse it, or just provide enough light so you don't need it. And for a good display shot, clean the glass and briefly take down the divider. Cheers!

Ummm removal of the divider may result in a hazardous enviroment for Cammie the common oscar :( Ike and Snowflake would kick his/her butt pretty quickly....again. Then Snowflake and Whitey would go at it while Ike just watches.

I'm expecting my charger to arrive on Tues. So hopefully by mid next week I'll have a few more shots to share :D

These will have clean glass and a level camera angel :oops:
