Hi guys,

From the rumor mill, but seems like quite a possibility that this is going to replaced the highly acclaimed Canon EOS 10D..

http://cweb.canon.jp/camera/20d/appearance/img/main-02.jpg

EOS-20D
8.2 MegaPixels
DIGIC II
1:1.6x Crop
9 Point focusing
1/8000s Max Shutter speed
5fps Continuous speed
25 frame buffer
EF-s support
E-TTL II support
0.2sec startup time
50g lighter than 10D

Price US$1600 RRP

Also 2 Lenses will be announced at launch of 20D
EF-s 10-22mm /f 3.5-4.5
EF-s 17-85mm /f 4-5.6 IS (Will be sold with 20D like the 300D)

***For English readers***

The design looks really similar to the 10D bar some minor changes to the button layout etc..
Seems to have some type of a joystick (aka IBM Thinkpads) on top of the main jpg dial also..
The internal flash seems to be similar in design to the 300D which has a much higher clearance..

The two lense we can see are EF-S 10-22mm 3.5-4.5 USM and the EF-S 17-85mm 4-5.6 IS USM.. Note the IS feature on the 17-85.. Seems it's gonna be the killer feature when comparing it to the 18-70 on the Nikon D70.. Both these lenses won't be able to be used on any SLR/DSLRs in the Canon range except for the 300D and the 20D which is a shame.. Certainly a great marketing ploy encouraging 10D or D30/D60 users to change to the 20D in order to take advantage of these exceptional focal length coverage lenses..

benny,

Great News. Are you sure you don't work for Canon :cheesy:

I'm looking forward to see G6 in action - 7MP, not bad at all.

Nah...me just fishy photographer..

I'll say that the ETTL II, 25 frame buffer, EF-S mount and the 8 mp are really attractive options. Somehow, whenever I get a new camera, they always launch a new one within six months. Twice this has happened to me already.

Anyway, I think this is a great backup camera and I'm tempted to get one. I've just been put on the waiting list for this fella just in case I really want it. .

Cheers,
