OH no, petry is the nicest turtle. She would never bit. The vet was actaully surprised she was so layed back. I have never seen her hide in her shell.even when the dog comes over to her tank she comes right up to the glass to investigate.

I was sort of surprised since every other turtle i had met was mean, and tried to hide or bite. Not this one,thank god.

How old is Your turtle?
My friend has had a green box turtle since he was 3, and now he is 23, so that makes the turtle 20!

There aren't too many hot months but we do get some sun [smilie=biggrin.gif]

I think my turtle is over 17 years old. I have had her for about 2 years, the girl that gave her to me had her for 5 and the people that gave it to her had it for 10. So she is old by our standards but not old in box turtle years.

Never heard of a "green" box turtle. What species is it?

I called the guy and he says its a Japanese water turtle?

I'm not so sure he even knows......but he has had the darn thing for 20 years.....I know that much
