Looks like Canon is working hard on '04 profits. After releasing Canon PowerShot A85 in July, company announced A90. It is impossible to catch up with technology.

i wanna know now what nikon are gonna release as a competitor - should prove interesting.

or are they going to lower the price of the D70 now?

Very very true.

It's also interesting to know that the brand new camera (yup, the one that's just launched 2 weeks ago) that you've just bought is already obsolete. The company is already planning the production of the replacement months ago.

I don't think the company will invest in any models between D70 and D100 or lower than D70. Both products are selling like hot cookies and to buy D70 kit online for "cheaper" price without waiting is almost impossible. I don't think the company will lower their prices too much. $1200 for such a combo with this quality lens is good price, especially compare to D100.

As for as whats really in the pipeline, look out for D200 !!

actually, we sell more of the canon digital rebels than we do the nikons.

You won't find D70 for cheaper than ~$1100 and Reber you could get for ~800. This is why
