Question for Digital Rebel (300D) Users

I currently use a Canon G3 for most of my photos, but am debating getting a digital SLR in the future. I'd probably opt for the Canon Digital Rebel because I have a few lenses for my existing Canon Rebel which would be interchangeable with the digital version.

My question is, is there any shutter lag like I experience with my digital camera? I'm hoping it'll perform as well as my film SLR.

the shutter lag is minimal - so minimal it is unnoticeable.
