It's just getting out of hand, the cardcams going from 5 to 7.2 mp's!!!!

When will space be limited enough to make them stop? The sensor has got to look like L.A. under a magnifying glass, omg.........

On another note, at least they decided to make a grandson for my S-75
(the V-3) :)
And it's also 7.2 mp, but it's of size for that sensor, can't wait to check it out!!

What do you think? The 828 is coming down in price slowly but surely, should I just wait for it, or go DSLR? Ick so many decisions.......lol.

Tony,

You know my vote.

Recently switched from Canon G2 to DSLR, wouldn't go back. Ask Ed, he switched from Sony to Canon Rebel and despite some initial bumps, he enjoys it a lot.

Sell your S-75, add your additional 700$ save up few more cents and get yourself a nice DSLR.

IMHO

Compact digital cameras these days are able to produce great photos (aquatic or otherwise).

However, I too, believe that Digital SLR cameras are a lot more convenient, flexible and forgiving. With recent price adjustments to more sane levels, it's definitely an investment to consider.

What they said :)

Seriously, though, we do not want to give an impression that you have to have a DSLR to take great pics. You can get away with a decent consumer camera w/5mp and a set of manual features IF you have great lighting.

BUT, if you your budget allows for the expens of a DSLR, you will not be sorry you invested in it. And I am not just talking fish pics. I have been taking some kids pics this week, and it is amazing what a nicely tuned camera can do. I may post some this week here.

FINAL THOUGHT: Live within your means, maximize what you have, and weigh the relevance of that increase in quality/convinience against the obvious drawback of $$ and decide for yourself.
