Spent some time messing around with the camera, no special lighting just one reg. cheap flourescent strip, trying to do some low light shots:

With flash, excuse the background, it's not a show tank :)

2 light strips from the top, no flash. Check out the blue that is starting to show up on his face.

Do you use NeatImage? Me thinks you may have gone a tad overboard with it on the Carpinte shot...

I do use NImage. That shot was so bad, SO much noise, that I almost threw it away, but I really liked that face, so I had to play a bit with it to save it. That is the best it came out. I will try again later this week, may be I can do it a bit cleaner.

I like the second Flower Horn picture. Very sharp and good colors. Natural looking too.

The Oscar pictures are good too, but the color seems off. Too greenish and yellowish and hence not very naturally looking. Did you make any white balance adjustments? I usually do an "auto level" adjustment in Photoshop as my camera does not have a good white balance function.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Benny, the auto level doesn't seem to work for my case. I usually did the adjustment manually.

ccplim,

Seem to work fine for me most of the time.

I'm using Adobe 5.0 LE, the most basic version. So there's lot's of function not available. Even the EXIF data doesn't appear after you resize the pictures. So I'm thankful that there's at least "Auto Levels".

Hopefully Photoshop CS will be a good upgrade.

Cheers,
