Got this fish as a gift from a friend who's out of the hobby. Took this picture last night. Let me know what you guys think.

555, that is a nice SRS. Very nice indeed. Whose was it?

As far as the pic, it's nice and clean. The obvious critique would be on composition, the shot has a weird angle, distorting the fish, and is too much to the right. Notice how the tail touches the right end, and the head has some room, it should be more balanced. I know how you got it that way, because of the shot angle, so try to shoot at straight angle if you are not using flash.

Thanks Ed,

I know exactly what you're talking in regards of the angle. This damn fish is up in the glass at all times whenever I hold the camera, so it's kinda hard for me to get it directly from side view. I'll try again and keep you posted.

Mine does that also sometimes. Watching me  Sit there for a while holding the camera and let him get used to you. do it often and eventually he'll learn to be ok w/it.

I have problems getting shots of my midas from the sides... he only shows me his snout when I get close enough to use the 50mm f/1.8 or the 28-75 f/2.8 :( Now that I have a real flash, I think I can probably stand back 6-10 feet and use the 70-200 f/2.8 :)

Darth, the trick is patience. Just sit down in position and camera in front of you and let him go nuts, then he gets bored and starts going about it normally.
