Thanks Ed, and we owe it to the wonderful advice that we get here!!
However, just because I got ONE good photo, please feel free to continue with my education, I am a sponge, teach me.

NICE! Is that a clown pleco?

Yes, it's a clown. He's a little light in that pic cause he'd only been in the tank about an hour. I looked at him today, and he is DARK with light stripes! I'll try to get a new pic tonight... [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Oh, trust me, I am still learning alongside you. I read every forum here trying to get something that will make this easier.

Very nice pl*co [smilie=c:
That's one cool pleco!!! What's its scientific name? Which pic is more close to the real color? IMHO, when using large aperture size or macro shot which lead to short DOF, arrange the fish to be well transverse to the view direction of the camera, so the full body of fish can be in rite focus (the case of the 2nd photo).

Thanks for the tips, CDM, I was excited that he'd darkened up, so I took a "hurry" pic! [smilie=biggrin.gif] His scientific name is Panaque maccus, and you can find info on him HERE (http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/loricari/panaque/734_f.php) Thanks everybody for the kind words!

I just thought I would mention that Meg changed the sand in that tank last night, it was a really bright burgundy color. We went back to the natural sand. Very tough to get pics of fish in that tank, with that sand in it, and it was a little finer than we thought at first, lots of movement.
Went with the same sand we have in all but one tank (I'm not convinced I like the sand yet, so my main tank is still gravel).

Nice fish! And the first picture is funny. Seems like the Panaque maccus is talking to the zebra pleco. Actually, we should have a section where pictures can be submited for funny/witty captions. That'll be fun!
The background on the first picture isn't tidied up properly yet. Still some visible spots. Turn up the brightness on your monitor if you are working on the background.
As for the sand, those in the second picture are much nicer.
Can we expect to see more pictures of this beauty? And the L046 too please.
Cheers,

In the first pic they were "getting aquainted" [smilie=lol.gif] I liked the color of that pinkish sand in the LFS, but after a few weeks I HATED it! it floated around constantly, so I changed it to natural. Thanks for the tips on the background, we'll try that. I try to get as many pics of all my pl*cos as I can, whenever they are out and about, I run for the camera! [smilie=photo.gif]

Maybe you should consider putting your camera near the tank instead! [smilie=biggrin.gif]
Anyway, just for fun, hope you don't mind.....
