Well, i really hope he wins bacause i made him promise that if he did, i would get a REALLY nice deal on the D-Rebel with accessories :cheesy:

I forgot to mention that the reason he will give me a good deal, is because he doesent need another DSLR.
He already has a Nikon D100
He`s always been a Nikon man ;)


All i want with a new cam now is better results at higher ISO`s.
My F828 is doing a great job, but at this point it`s not good enough for me...
+ all the other stuff thats better on a DSLR

To be honest, I find black cameras are more suitable for aquatic photography as they are less reflective on the front glass pane.

go to ritz camera to play with them - our CEO bought up pretty much the entire black stock from canon (In the USA - you'd probabaly be able to get one internationally) ;) I've been looking and I've not been able to find them at any other place. Bestbuy have the silver, compusa have the silver, walmart have the silver, everywhere I've gone they've got the silver - and most of them haven't heard that there's a black one out there.

I've seen it, and its nothing special - actually if anything it looks worse than the silver one - mainly I think because the black isn't like the other DSLRs that are black - its the same smooth plastic as what the silver version, and not the black matte/textured finish as the others).

But anyways roy - i wish you the best of luck :) I'm in a competition to win a 20D through work - plus ALL accessories.

You guys have all the luck! There aren't such competitions where I stay. Had to fork out the cash to get one. But I like it already. The battery grip for the 20D sucks, but the Canon EF 17-85mm IS USM is great! Can't wait for the EF 10-22 mm to be out.

My D60 is officially in retirement.

benny - its strictly for employees of certain companies.

But, I didn't win the grand prize of the 20D - I got first prize - a digital rebel, printer and paper - its a perk for having to learn all this canon information. Nikon on the other hand don't really do that - they've only ever given out 2 d70s as a prize for our company. Canon have given away alot more. but they spend alot more on marketing and such to be able to afford to do such things.

can't laugh at that.

well, i stopped by ritz camera today to pick up a 1.8d 50mm, and got the chance to look at the black digital rebel. i think it looks much better. it's not glossy black, it is sort of a flat black, but looks nicer to me. anyways, sorry off subject. those are some nice images roy. wish you and your father the best of luck.

I remember reading on some Korean forums that they actually took apart a silver version and respray it black. And applied all the marking on thereafter. Pretty good job too. I think there was enough hype for the manufacturer to listern to consumer demands.

Personally, I would prefer a black one too.
