I did not request emails form admin here and even emailed you to stop sending it but it still comes, it looks like you are even using false headers in the email to make it look like it originates from my server and the return path is false.
Please eradicate anything linking my site to this Spam immediately or I will be forced to seek legal advice from my Barrister.

Hi,

Please take a mintue to settle down,

Ok. Now please check to make sure you've un-checked ALL boxes regarding receiving e-mails from threads or admins or members.

Now, regarding the title of your post here, why do you think this email is spam? Spam is meaningless, mindless (usually advertising) email targeted to no one at all. This email was for APF members only (which you are, remember) to notify them of a cool new change for our POTM contest. It is important that we get the word out about our new features and keep our members informed on happenings here at APF. Some people are not here everyday, and getting an email gets them to at least stop by and help us become a better site.

Please don't over-react to something that is designed to help you!

So can you explain the use of my sites name in the email header?
I run a couple of forums myself and do actually know to tick or untick boxes.

clothahump,

Please take a deep breath and relax.

I have yet to receive any emails or correspondence from you or corydorasworld. I will double check with Co-Admin.

If you were a simple user from another board I would be the one seeking legal advice (lawyer on staff) but since you have your own forum(s), I ask for a little sympathy. We are in the same "business" and we are here to please our members and provide top quality information. It would be our last intention to send spam emails across the country or world to members or non members. I consider this a computer / internet glitch which will be fixed ASAP.

This topic will be closed and further discussions will be taken off-line. We have your email and we will contact you ASAP.

hello there, sir

This is Edward, the co-admin of APF. I am sorry about the misunderstanding w/the email. I would like to address a couple of the points you talked about in the posts.

1. The email is sent from a header "aquatic photography forum". Your mail service adds the "@..." not us. I was not even aware that it did that at all. On my service, roadrunner, that is not done. So, it WAS NOT our intention to mislead everyone. And it's not like someone else also got an email from apf@corydorasworld.

2. I just looked at your account and noticed that you now have "receive admin emails" switched to "NO". Was it that way when you received my emails? If it was, then it's something that I need to look into, as it should not happen. This option is given for users that dont want to receive those emails.

3. As someone who runs several sites, you should know that messages from the admin are not SPAM, specially if you have a choice to turn them off. When you sign up, you give the admins the right to send you those. You in fact SOLICIT those by not checking the "no" button and becoming a member of the community, as they are a communication tool of that community. So, they are NOT unsolicited.

4. This is the first week of our forum, and there are a LOT of new features being introduced that we are very excited about, and want our users (which we have TONS of new ones in the last week since the switch) to know about. We are NOT planning to send out several emails a week after the initial "building" period. But many sites I belong to send out weekly newsletters by email. That is almost a standard. And, as a user, you can easily opt out of them.

Please reply to me by email at grhome@socal.rr.com if you have any other concerns.

Thanks,
Edward
