Some of the smilies work very simply as in: o) :)

Could we add a nose to the shortcut? :-o :-)

the reason i ask is that if you ever put a smiley in parenthesis... ( :wink: ) it will look (:wink:)

If this is too much trouble, or a hassle for those who have been around awhile, i can work around it. Perhaps I'm the only one who has this problem, and I'll just deal, but maybe others do too?

Try without the spaces between the smiley and the parenthesis. It's no big deal. :)

Jessica, Can you do me a big favor? I am just not a smilie expert
Can you put each smile and a shortcut that it should have ??? Here as a post, and I will fix them all together. Right now they are a mess. The reason for the mess is the switch from one system to another, smilies got imported and mixed w/the ones on the system already, and all the shortcuts got erased.

Is there a trick to it? I see the smilie icon on the top of the toolbar next to the font color but does nothing when I click on it. Am I missing something?

I dont see a smile Icon next to colors :) But on the right of the post, there is a small Smiles block with 15 or so, and you can click MORE to see the rest.

Jessica (not Jennifer :) ) I know I have not done the smiles thing yet. I am trying to figure them out. I thought most had a shortcut that uses dots and )'s and not :name: . Is that not the way?

ah, you want those. I can dig them up. It doesn't really matter if you use :name: I just wanted to get the noses in on a few that you had to help with borking up messages with smilies that weren't meant to be, even if most people are smart enough to realize that. Without the ability to edit posts after they are sent (a 5minute edit/delete interval would be awesome, btw, longer ones just seem a pain)

you need to "go advanced" rather than use the quick reply. then they should be sitting happily on the right screen.
