I like this picture and in my screen it looks rather ok, but this is a bright screen. I suppose the picture is too dark. How would you edit this? I have the original somewhere, but I couldn't find it yet.

it kind of dark rain. i'd do a levels adjustment, and a curve with the black eyedropper. results would be like this. hope you don't mind.

Thank you. It looks great, everything I did seemed to be too much or just change the picture in a bad way. Next time when I have that species I will take a good picture of it so there's no need to adjust it afterwards. This was one of my first pictures with EOS 300D and I didn't know anything about the camera, I was just trying to understand how it worked.

did you use available light or flash?

No flash, just tank lights (I think there were only two fluorescent tubes on back of the tank when I took this picture). I just found the original: 1/25, f/4.9. And I remembered wrong, this was even older than I thought, I didn't have 300D then, I was just learning how to use A80.

I remember how I felt when I got it, first chance to actually choose which shutter speed to use. Back then I didn't know what shutter speed meant, I had only used the automatic settings. I didn't even have a tripod :) I took 4 pictures of this plant with different settings and this one looked the best. I bet 1/15 would have been better shutter speed for the picture.
