View Full Version : Shulfert's dwarf cray
Picture of a female holding eggs. For some reason, I really like this picture.
Let it rip.

For a relatively slow moving subject, I thing you can do better in several ways...
1. Get the eyes in focus at the least.
2. Go for a better post, either a side profile or have the fella looking towards, instead of away from you.
3. Stay away from the edges of the critter keepers, they distort badly.
I think the above can be easily achieve and hope to see some more pictures soon.
Cheers,
Think I was tracking the eggs in the picture, hence the weird position that it's in. Also, was using the Tamron stopped down, but can recall by how much (RAW data doesn't show which stop for some reason...just reads 1/200 sec with F/0...). Will keep those in mind in the future and try to get a better profile on them.
They're also in a 5.5 gallon instead of a critter keeper and that's actually silicone in the picture there.
Thanks for the comments, Benny. It was exactly what I was looking for and will keep them in mind next time.

I know that we ask for only one photo in this section, but this is a subject which would make a good sequence or photo-essay: a bodyshot , a close-up of the eggs and a headshot too (at least).
The problem with this photo is that it isn't any of these - which doesn't mean that it isn't interesting or that it wasn't worth taking. I don't know how unusual it is to breed this species - but I would have taken lots of photos. Did you?
