In my opinion, this is a very challenging photo to take.

It has a very high contrast ratio between the subject and the background/foreground.

The details in the highlight must not drown and turn into hot spots (in which there are a few)

The body of the fish will lost details at the expense of the environment.

Effectively composed, the orange face of the fish draws attention away from the weaker aspects of the photo. This makes it an effective presentation of a difficult situation.

All in all, a very difficult shot.

Cheers,

On a simple gut reaction, I love it. When I first scrolled down I thought I was looking at a tree in winter, then saw the fish coming from it. It's like art - I know what I like regardless of the technical quality.

It is a difficult subject: which makes it worth trying.
This is the Critique section, so I can say that I think it's a bit tight. Did you crop it? I'd like to see more of the white 'feathers' of the Xenia to contrast with the chunky black clown.
