Since I installed my RAW 2 format plug-in into Photoshop CS, I am having a problem saving files, with either Save for Web, or Save As...
For some reason, when the save for web box is opened, it desaturates the files. Something to do with SRGB, because I can assign profile, and it fits the SRGB, but when I save, it still goes back to that format.
I have been compensating for it by over saturating a bit and having them then desaturate on the way to Save, but it comes out unnatural.
Anyone know what that could be?

are you embedding the ICC profile when you save for web? I find that helps a little bit, but it will desaturate a little.
I used to have the problem to this solved, but I forgot where I put the notes.
Or, you could always RTFM - but knowing adobe, I don't think that'll help much. I've got a book on photoshop coming in the next couple days, I'll see what that says when I get it

Maybe the Raw plugin isnt a good one. I uploaded the one I use. Here is the link. There are also 4 zip files with xero's filters. I like them and thought you might also. Give em a shot, they're free. :) Just right click and download to your hard drive. Open with zip or whatever else you might use to unzip. Extract to your plugins directory in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins folder.

It's not the plug in.
Chances are that you are shooting in Adobe RBG...at least my 20D uses that color profile as the default. I've noticed that any image with an Adobe RGB profile automatically gets displayed as sRGB in any other program or online, unless the program specifically supports Adobe RGB. When I shoot I save my .tifs as Adobe RGB and then when I downsize them for the web I convert back to sRGB and do any tweakage I need to bring them back to where they should be. That way I have my printable files saved as Adobe RGB and my online files looking good in sRGB.
The easiest way to fix the lack of color that develops when converting a file from Adobe RGB to sRGB (at least from what I've tried) is to go into selective color and take some cyan out of both reds and yellows in the reds profile and then yellows in the yellow profile. Using a polarizing filter plug in also helps. Remember, the fade tool is your friend!

Agree.
This is what I said in another post.
Your camera is setup to work in Adobe RGB. You should be using sRGB. This is why you are seeing those problems with PhotoShop RAW files. In Nikon we call this Color Mode. Find equivalent in Canon and change it.

Jay, except it was in sRgb and I had problems. I just switched to Adobe Rgb in the camera, but have not tested it yet.
I got around the problem by changing to Lab Color. DOnt know why but that does it.

Image / Mode / Lab Color.
Yeah, for now that is what I am doing.
