Quick questions. Will this ringlight have any compatibility issues with a D70? Does anyone have any personal experience with this flash?
Thanks!

Should also state that I am thinking of using it with a Nikon Telephoto AF Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens.
it will work, but only in maual mode. that means no ttl metering. you might want to consider the Sigma EM-140 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=352443&is=REG), which is i-ttl compatible. another thing i would like to add, is that ringflashes tend to create very flat lighting. so depending on your application, i would take that into consideration. what are you planning for your 105mm nikkor?

I was thinking of initially using the 105mm nikor for macro pic's. I don't have experience with the use of a ringlight flash. Does a ring light flash really make that much of a difference in macro photography?
Any sort of lighting makes a difference in photography. It'll allow you to take pictures when conditions are less than ideal (overcast sky, creating shadows, etc.). I almost bought the same ringflash awhile back, but then did some more research. As Hir0 said, the major drawback to it is that it creates very flat lighting.
Instead, I picked up a SB-800 speedlight instead. It's actually less expensive and more versatile (can be used either on the hotshoe, as remotes, or mounted on macro brackets). Here are some macro pictures that I took yesterday after work with the speedlight on the hotshoe.
