I really want to get better in handling photoshop.

Here's a little thing I did-

1. Resized.
2. Shadows and Higlights.
3. USM.
4. Framed.
5. Photofilter --> Cooling filter 80.
6. Resized.

Before

After

IMO the sky got nicer, but I would like to keep the snow whiter.
Any tips on how to do this?

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Very nice. What do you mean by whiter ? Do you want to keep original white color from the initial picture ?

Yes, and then some. The W/B got a little off. As you can see the snow is now kinda bluish.

Use layers to do what you need to individual parts of the picture and incorporate them all together to get an accurate rendering of the scene.

Heres the way that I would do it...

create a duplicate layer
select the top half using the pen tool and adjust just like you were. Then the top just gets changed and not the bottom half.

heres how it looked with a quick touch up...

Hehe, I actually figured it out myself a while ago. With (Jay's?) background bluring tips, a lot of other possibilities were just around the corner :)
I.M.O it looked unatural with the photofilter on only the sky. Because the sky should reflect a little in the snow.

But thanks.

Verse: Did you use the photofilter? It turned out more natural than my try, I probably just made it to strong :)

Yeah I used the photo filter, but turned it down to about 10%. I also adjusted the hue/saturation a little to make the sky a little more blue.
