Singapore's Merlion celebrates its 30th birthday on September 15, 2002. It was also officially unveiled at its new home on the very same day.

Here are some shots of the Merlion I have taken previously after she relocated to her new home. All shots were taken using film camera and scanned into digital format.

Managed to found some pics but these are not taken by me. Credit goes to each individual owner.

An overall view of her new home.

A view of her when she was still at her old place.

Can see that her front view was blocked by a bridge.

I should have lower the shuttle speed so as not to freeze the water.

You mean the sunrise one!! I think the color of the sky is great, and the black image outlined the subject is another way to express the scene, if the merlion can turn a bit counterclockwise to show its lion outline, that would be perfect.

Yes! That's the one. Because of the sun in front, the shuttle speed was like 1/1000.

Too bad I am not the one who plan the relocation. If not, I will sure put that into consideration.

By the way, that shot was taken from a higher ground so as to maintain "eye level" with the merlion. The place was kind of crowded that day due to a photography competition going on.

The first two photos looks great. But the Merlion seems slightly overexposed. You were using a soft diffusor on this one?

I like the fourth picture too!

Cheers,

Thanks benny! The only filter i had at that time was a star 6 from Hoya. The overexposed could have been caused by the slow shuttle speed. Btw, there's a few strong spot light at the base shining at her.
