Okay, just got home and my new SB-800 was there. First question before I get into the familiarities sessions (actually two questions).
1. How do you get that lid off the battery casing? I'm afraid it will break the little tabs if I force it.
2. Should I use the fifth battery (SD-800 addapter)? If the answer is no, I guess we can ignore question #1.
1. If you tilt one side slightly, you'll find out that it comes out quite easily. Very easily done, and doesn't feel like you're breaking it off.
2. You can; just depends if you need a faster charge out of it. The fifth battery cuts down the downtime you'll have. I stop using the fifth one due to problems that it has with Quantum batteries and it's not recommended to use the fifth one. Still pretty fast compared to using Ni-Mh.

I tried your method originally, and just tried it again. It really doesn't loosen up enough for me to slip it off as easily as you describe. I'll just play with the four batteries for now. Thanks.
I'll snap some pictures later on today when I get home. Might help.
i use the 5th battery at all times. makes recycle times much faster. i don't remember how i got the door off though.

Check out this link. I followed the directions and it worked prefectly.

Yes, t does make the refresh times much faster so I would use it. I do.

Hey airgunr, thanks a bunch. That link was right on the button. Followed those instructions and it slipped off sooo easy. I also feel better knowing that someone else besides me had the same fear of breaking one of the tabs.
I'll definitely start using the fifth battery now.
Have a great one :-D

To make you feel even better... I have not removed the door yet because of the same fear of breaking it. I'll try the method in the link when I get home.
Thanks.
Nice link. Was gonna snap some pictures, but that pretty much explains the entire process. If you actually tilt one side of the door, it slides out pretty easily and doesn't even feel like it'll snap off at all.

definitely use the 5th battery. It makes it cycle faster...you might as well take advantage of it.
