I am going to be getting a Canon 20D next week and I am looking for lens recommedations. At first I can only afford a couple of lenses and then I will be getting more later (once I pay off the camera).
The two things I want to shoot the most are my fish tanks and also surf photos. I really want to be able to get some good surf photos. Where I live, most spots are far from the beach but I do not think I will be able to afford anything over 300-400mm right now.
Could someone recommend a good telephoto lens for shooting surf shots? And another lens for shooting photos of my fish tanks?

Thank you for your help!

Take a look at the 50mm 1.8 for fish pics and for the surf shots, you're gonna want to go as long as your wallet can go. Like you said, minimum would be 300mm and up. I've seen some decent shots from the Sigma 50-500mm for surf.

I agree with Ibn. If money is an issue, and you want to go long - the Sigma 50-500 (Bigma) is hard to beat. I'd strongly suggest a good tripod to accompany the "Bigma" though.
