You saw this in the wild? I have only seen this once in one of our local LFS but the shell looks different.

Yes it is from the wild, I see them all the time out here.
snappers are awesome, especially alligator snappers! how big was that guy?

Thanks all! He was definately over 2.5 feet. I had an even bigger one come within 3 feet of me while swimming at the beach last summer, head sticking up out of the water and staring me down. Needless to say I scrambled to get onto my inner tube before I lost a foot!!! [smilie=fear2.gif]
