And not forgetting that in a few years, it will be worthless, despite it's current impressive specification.
I remember being offered the top of the line digital SLR during it's initial days with an impressive 1.3 megapixel for an unbelieveable sum of S$46,000 (about US$29,000) in the late nineties. Nobody would touch it for US$300 nowadays.
There's a price to pay for being at the forefront of technology.....

yup!
and see the 1D Mk II right now? was $4500, has slowly dropped to about $4000, and canon are offering a rebate of $500 which brings it down to $3500 thereabouts.
course, I can get one for $3500 without the rebate ;). But I ain't getting it - It'll come down, and for what I do, the 20D is enough for me right now. Maybe later, but not now...
(thats what I keep telling myself anyway ;)
