Was just wondering what is good lense to start out with without breaking the bank.

Thanks

always say the same thing: 50mm 1.8 ($70) for everyday use, and 100mm 2.8 Macro if you want to REALLY enjoy yourself. It's not as good for big fishes, which I know you have :) as you have to move back a bit to fill the frame properly. Maybe look into the new 60mm macro.

Hard to beat the 50mm-1.8 for big fish and the price .

Thanks

Should I get a kit with lense and accessories or just camera itself and rest later.

If you are getting the Canon I'm not really wild about the kit lens . But for what little you have to pay for it its not a bad deal . My brother in law got married this weekend and I forgot to bring the kit lense with me . Later I wished I had brought it . Almost all of my fish pix have been shot with the 50mm-1.8 . I sure would get that one to start and as soon as you use your camera a while you will start getting an idea what you want . You will get some good advise here from a lot of people with aquatic experience .

Agreed. The stock lens is so so. The 50mm is the best "big fish" lens, though I am dying to test the 60mm Macro.
