Due to my budget as a starting position I was planning to use a SB-600 connected via SC-17 cable to use on top of the tank (single light source).
Later on, could I then add another flash (say a cheaper second-hand model, e.g. SB-22S, SB-23) via the SC-26 or SC-27 multi-flash connecting cord?
I'm a bit confused about all this master flash stuff. I've read that only the SB-800 can be the master, but is that only for wireless setups?
Are there any implications if I later bought a digital body?

P.S. I didn't buy anything in Singapore last month but I'm heading to the US in June. Can't wait!!

I believe that you're correct in assuming that the SB-600 can't be used for triggering additional units (versus the SB-800). With the cord, it shouldn't matter. BTW, if you do decide to go with a cheaper model, just be aware that the advanced flash functions won't work.

jason, please visit the nice people over @ nikonians (http://www.nikonians.org/) and i'm sure you will find your answer there. just post it in the speedlights section and ONLY there :) (hint: they don't like when people post the same question under multiple topics)
