How do you guys prepare your driftwood so that it doesn't produce that "black water" effect?
I have had mine for about 2 months now and it still tans the water, I have to do water changes every week. By the end of the week it looks like Ice tea. Mine was too huge to consider boiling and keeping in water. There are no pots big enough to cook it in. It's the size of a small chair.

The one I just got was quite a big piece too and I think boiling is out of the topic. I wonder would it help if i were to pour boiling water over it? Mine will not be put to use so fast.
I have also heard some suggestions like filtering the water through active carbon but wonder how effective will that be?
Nothing works, it keeps doing it and doing it for several months. You cant pour water over it wont work, it has to be submerged and soaked. Maybe a bathtub full of hot water. I should have tried that, but oh well. I just did another 80% water change on the 110. WE'll see how long it takes this time to become ice tea.

Oh no!! Where on earth can i find a bathtub to do this? [smilie=oops2.gif] I guessed I will need to do it bit by bit and portion by portion using the small tub that I have.
