just received my eyepeices for my camera (ordered two different ones). i have to say i am pleased with them, they help cut out the stray light and they are a little more comfortable than the stock one. i picked up the first two under viewfinder accessories on this (http://www.bocaphoto.com/products/new/nikon/nikonacc.htm) web page. i ordered one of each because they were so cheap, and i wanted to make sure i would like at least one of them. i like them both. the first one #2939 fits the same way as the stock eyepeice does - it's a pretty snug fit. the second one slides over the eyepeice frame, and basically does the same thing as the 3 peice setup that many people use. it's not as snug a fit, it slides on and off pretty easy - but i think it's a little more comfortable than the #2939. only problem is if you weren't paying attention you could possible knock it off. there are two tabs that create friction on the mount so it doesn't just fall off, i bet they could be bent a little more to make the fit tighter.

Funny, in my pre-digital slr days I always had those. Then I got the coolpix compact camera and forgot all about them. Now with my D70, I think this is the itch I had with it. Something missing, but not really knowing what... I'll find one at this side of the pond soon! Thanks for scratching that itch :-)

That's a great eyepiece, Hir0. I've been using it for awhile now (got tired of finding the OE that comes with the camera which keeps on falling off). I also ordered two of the three parts for the other one that I was gonna use, but the third part has been out of stock for awhile. B&H finally has it available for order, but the one piece has worked out pretty well. I'm holding off on the last piece until I have to pick up something else from them.

I am on 2939 for more than a year and it works great! The 3 piece set doesn't really work for me as I do not like the way it blocked the LCD (and it can actually drop off pretty easily if you are not careful).
