I came in but couldn't find the log off option when I want to get out [smilie=oops2.gif] [smilie=fear2.gif]
hey man
As you maybe able to tell we are doing a lot of new stuff to the forum. It will all be back shortly. I will see if I can put one up somewhere temporarily.
On another note, what do you think of the new look?

Anyway - why do you want to leave for ?!? [smilie=ohmy.gif]
I think people with smaller monitors and lower screen resolutions may have more problems with having to scroll horizontal now, ecspecially with wider pics being posted sometimes...
I have a 22inch monitor screen resolution at 1280x960 and approx 96% of my screen is filled in order to get rid of the horizontal scroll on this thread.....
just a thought...
Daniel, do you have a cold ? [smilie=biggrin.gif] Oh, that was a hint, sorry wanted to see what it would look like and liked it so much that I kept it. the folder has the overall_header2,3,4,... files that have the links in them if you need them.
DanL, sorry if it does not fit right on your monitor. There are benefits and drawbacks to any system. The nav. system offers convinience and expanded features at your fingertips.
I have changed the image settings to limit to 600 px wide, which should be good for almost anything. And my pics if you look at my thread, fit fine on most monitors running 1028 resolution (standard these days).
Keep in mind also that the side navigation was created to have other features in the future added to it, it gives me ways to expand features of the forum and still have them be accessable.

Yeah - I found the backed up files and put the rest in - should all be working now - drop down menu and the logout logged-in options should hide and unhide accordingly.
I'm working on trying to improve the width of the forum to get it to fit okay on smaller monitors.
it fits fine on my monitor but I was just bringing up a point for people with small monitors. this time it is size that matters... hehehehe

The aim is to make sure it fits on my 1024 x 768 tft laptop screen. Thats probably gonna be the min-spec

I've centred the banner - is that okay for now?
i think the banner looks better now since tha background image doesnt tile over on wider screens and start displaying the first fish again.

I've also modified the posts so they should reduce in size without pushing in a horizontal scroll-bar. Will have to check on a smaller montior once I get home.
the main screen shows up fine now on a 15" monitor at 1024x768, but once you get into a thread such as this one then the horizontal scroll bar appears...
Also
once you enter the forum there is no link back to the portal page.
keep up the great work...

I will look into the forum scroll bar later.
I believe that paradise is retiring the portal page.
Yes, RIP the portal page. We'll run everything from the index page. Update your links please.

Yeah man! Can tell that. Everytime when I come in, I found little changes here and there.
The new look is great! One cool feature which I have came across in some other website (I am not sure if phpBB is able to support this), is that the main menu on the left hand side is fixed at one particular position. No matter how long the postings are or how far we have to scroll down, the menu will always be available. At this present moment, if we need to access anything from the main or user menu, we actually have to scroll all the way to the top to reach it.

I can't be online 24x7 right? [smilie=mf_tongue.gif] [smilie=lol.gif] [smilie=lol.gif]
By the way, I noticed one small problem yesterday (not sure has it been fixed?). I tried to create and reply some postings while in the office. When I login from home, it shows that there is a new reply even though there is none. The new reply that it show was actually referring to the one that I have posted from the office earlier on.

If you don't allow the page to fully load then it doesn't count it as being read. I always get this at work cos of the slow proxy servers that pull the data down.
I tend to open it in a new window and then make the reply and submit it then go back to the main forum and open a new window for another post I want to reply to - that way I leave the old page to load up - register I've successfully logged a post and then go back to my post to register it as read.
Its just a strange way that slow connection work with the forum.
