:?: I have an Olympus C-750 digital camera and I can't seem to get any good pics of my African Cichlids. Does anyone know if I need to have the camera on a certain setting in order to accomplish this? I see some great pics out there and I am so proud of my fish i want to show them off. I have also tried with all the surrounding lights on and off daytime and night. Please help Thanks! :?:

Lets see some samples so we could point out "mistakes" or "inproper use".
Yes, pictures are good, plus descriptions of your typical setup. How much light do you have shining down on the tank, and how big the tank is. I suggest always to take pics in PITCH DARK, with lots of light on top of the tank. As much as you can fit, as long as it's Daylight bulbs, something with really bright White, not yellow to it. But the other light has to be not present, if you turn off the lights on the tank, you should be totally in the dark. That is how I do mine. Try to avoid flash, and you do that by having a lot of floodlight on the tank.

Well, I have some pictures that came out o.k. I don't have anylights in the immidiate area but there was some background light and the tank lights were on. I adjusted the shutter speed on the camera to 1/1000 and used the flash. I don't know how to attach the pictures, but I'll give it a shot. How can I do the flood light thing without going out and buying all kinds of lighting?? Thanks for the help
O.K. I can't figure it out, how do I post the pics? Thanks

Why did they come out so small???
Well I can not see them, and copy/pasting gives me hpphoto's site. I dont think they allow sharing of links.
Put a couple in your album on this site and we'll look at them here.

Those are pretty good. I dont know what kind of camera you have but as with almost everyone's pics, the comment is to have more light on top of the tank when you film, and NO light other than that. Do it at night when there is NO ambient light, and turn it all off, except for hte tank. Add more light so you dont have to use flash, as it changes the colors dramatically.
Also, you may want to crop some of these in software, to give them the "more fish less space" look.
