Good to see you active again Bjarne.
You did a great job on controlling the DOF. Sharp as hell.

There's not much negative from my side of view. To be very pircky I can point out the bottom right corner is kind of bothering me when I stared at it to long. But that's beeing percky.

Thanks, I know, the bump in the gravel;)

I thought this pic was a bit greenish. I had to fix that (I think). Is this better?

hi Bjarne, i like the colors better in the first one, but i'm not sure which one has more correct color tone. this is a really nice fish - and the sharpness in the eye is very good. now, if i were to be picky - it would be that i don't really care for the colors in the gravel. other than that it looks good. personal preference here, but i would have liked to see the ends of the dorsal and anal fin a little less oof.

A out of focus back ground is very good for creating the illusion of depth and also a 3D effect when the main subject is tack sharp from front to back.

Personally, I would prefer slightly more Depth of Field and just a little bit more space behind the caudal fin.

Cheers,

Bjarne, a beautiful photo. Yeah, the ends of the fins are oof, but it's not that bad. The head and tail are pin-sharp. And, I actually love that gravel. Is that a mix of several, or is it sold like that in Europe. Very cool combo of at least 3 colors.

Thanks for good, contructive critique :)

The gravel is called "Rådasand" ans is a swedish product sold here in Scandinavia. It's quartz. I use this gravel in most of my tanks. The gravel in the picture has a dim. of 0.8-1.2mm.
