A lot has changed or I should say improved here on Aquatic – Photography Forum. We went from simple forum idea, later aquatic-photo forum and currently aquatic / general photography forum. I always felt that one should try other things to improve skills and technique and concentrating on one subject will not necessarily make you a specialist. This is exactly what I see on APF. Members are trying different techniques, utilizing their equipment and capturing variety of subjects. Broader interest means more information to share, which means more posting, which means expectation of constructive criticism, which means endless hours for our Advice Team / Moderator Team / Admin Team to reply, provide feedback, and provide criticism but at the end less time for those Teams to enjoy photography and their personal lives.

Everyone gets caught up with personal life, goals, career and of course family. People should not think of internet / forums as their second job and feel obligated to be present as Advice Team or Moderator Member forever. Unfortunately / fortunately APF is “Not For Profit” community, there are no long-term contracts to sign but also no monetary promotions. We only “expect” our Advice / Moderator Members to help us out with daily routine, process short / long term projects and initiate new ideas. This will help us maintain this place without too many problems and keep it “fresh”. If one can not meet those “expectations”, all we ask for is short email stating so. There are no punishments or broken contract fees, just simple THANK YOU from APF.

This leads me to Huge Announcement – Restructure of APF

Few members on APF have presented exceptional improvement in their quality of work. They asked questions, took notes, learned and significantly improved their photography technique. Fortunately they did not stop there. They took all that information and began sharing and teaching other new members on the forum. This cycle is a perfect example of great quality member and should be an example for others to follow. Administration decided to promote those individuals to Advice Team Members in form of appreciation and so they can be recognized as such.

Those members are:

- Bobby Phillips aka. Phishphorphun

- Steve Colquitt aka Willy wombat

- Alex Christensen aka Obliviou$

There is more good news !

Couple other members presented exceptional quality of work, impressive all-around knowledge, showed tremendous activity and help on the forum and went an extra mile to put together articles and help tips for others to follow and take notes. Administration decided to promote those individuals to Moderator Team Members in form of appreciation and so they can be recognized as such.

Those members are:

- Eric Do aka. Ibn

- Rich Steel aka. Squidfish

Good news are always good to hear but unfortunately we have “bad news”.

As I mentioned before, there are times where one should prioritize life, spend more time with the family and work on personal goals.

We would like to thank Aaron Alcantar aka. Verse for his participation as Moderator and Lisa Duskis for her participation as Advice Team Member. Their input, knowledge and skills were and still are very helpful to our community. We hope to still keep them around and have them share their information and their portfolios at any given time.

Last but not least, APF would to thank Andreas Werth for his tremendous participation in this community as Moderator. His exceptional photographic skills were and still are a huge addition to our forum. Administration Team would like to send personal special “Thank You” to Andreas for providing POTM Contest software along with the technical support. Due to lack of time and inability to show 100% participation, Andreas asked to be reinstated as regular member. We hope to have him around for long time and one day back on the Moderator Team.

Please give a round of applause for "retirees" and group WELCOME to freshly promoted members.

Thank you for your cooperation, continuous participation and contribution.

Regards,
Jay Luto / Ed Greenbers APF Owners

Honored to be part of the team :)

I would like to thank you all when I'm at it.
You've helped me a lot, I would never have learned so fast if it wasn't for you.
I'm not sure if I would even be sitting here cuddling with my D70 if it wasn't for you guys!
Though I'm a little curious about how rich I would be right now if I never discovered this site :-P

Bottom line is that you've helped me along this wonderful path. Forever grateful.

Congratulations to the rest aswell. Deserved.
And hope we'll see more of you Aaron, Lisa and Andreas (I'm going to miss those fish photos!)

I want to thank Ed and Jay for the recognition. The unselfish tutoring and patience that the team here constantly shares is amazing. I never thought that after owning a DSLR for only seven months, I would be considered an "Advice Team" candidate. It is a testament to everyone here at APF.

I want to congratulate the other team members. They all are well deserving of the promotions and making the team.

And thanks to the outgoing staffers for all your help. You all can take a deep breath and relax and enjoy membership for a while now.

My first official advice is for everyone who doesn't have it already. Get a wireless remote speed flash! :-D

Congratulations to Bobby, Scott and Alex . You have shown such great improvement in your photos, have worked hard at it and are all so frequently across the forums offering advice, thoroughly deserved. Eric's important contribution to the site is beyond any question.

A huge thanks also to Jay and Ed who along with the rest of the team have made this such an enjoyable place to contribute to and learn from.

Andreas, Lisa and Aaron...... many thanks...many thanks :). Still don't know how Andreas gets his tanks looking so spotless :)

Cheers

Congratultions to the new members of the team and it's certainly a pleasure to have you on board.

As for Aaron, Andreas and Lisa, I do hope that this doesn't mean we'll be seeing less of you on the forum. It wouldn't be the same without you guys!

Cheers,

Thanks for the recognition guys. I look forward to posting more and sharing my stuff with you all so i can continue on my learning path. I hope that APF can continue to attract more young blood and that the old bulls continue to mould them into better photographers. The experience and quality of feedback on this board is amazing!

Cheers Steve - not scott :):

Hi Jay, Ed and all others,
thank you for your kind words!
I just came back today from a one week holiday on Borkum (small island near germany in the North Sea).

You can be sure, i always enjoy to surf the site, whenever i find the time - and of course i will continue to post my fish stuff :-)
It always was a great benefit to me to get all your feedback on my modest work.

Congratulations to Bobby, Steve, Alex, Rich and Eric! Well deserved choice and great reinforcement for the team!

Still don't know how Andreas gets his tanks looking so spotless :)
Rich, i told my fish to keep their rooms clean, otherwise food will be rationed and the bad fishes will be photoshopped away!

Happy to see you back Andreas. Look forward to your shots.

I'm going to tell my cichlids the same thing and see what happens :-D
