Have you got a bigger version of this one? We like images about 600 pixels wide.
Looking forward to seeing your photos :-)

Thanks Alan,
I will try to put this one (size too smaller) first and try bigger ones later.
Big or small, I know my pictures are not TOO GOOD. :-(

Hey Sun, glad you accepted my invitation. Welcome to APF. Post lots of shots and be prepared for some very constructive suggestions. And NEVER feel intimidated here. With these great photographers here I've learned to ignore the intimidation and just jump in. That's how you learn quickly. :-D

Rich (aka Squidfish) does a great job with his mbuna, we have to teach him that we refer to your aulonocara as peacock, instead of hap. Is that a. baenschi or a. s. maleri. Looks like a. baenschi to me.

Let me suggest that when you feel comfortable, include some information about your shot including camera, lens, flash setup, etc. and we will chip in and make some suggestions.

Welcme aboard and look forward to seeing more pix.

Welcome to the forum, sun!

Looks like a good starting point, but I'd echo Alan's request at seeing a larger picture.

Nice looking fish Sun. You have a good camera too. I started digital photography with a Canon G3 and was using it till several months ago.

It's also nice to have another Edmonton member on the forum. Welcome!

Well, bring 'em on Sun. Give us something to work with. Your peacock shot is a little small. As Alan and others mentioned, it's easier to critique a shot around 600-640 pixels wide. So post somethng new or repost this one a little larger.

Hey Molina, nice to meet someone from AB here!
Would you pls share some of your tips since you had Canon G serious before? I was using "M" when taking the picture, and set it at 25/2.5. It is a little too dark in my tank, I need additional light for sure. Im just wondering if I have other options beside an extra flash.
Thanks in advance.

Will do Bobby.
BTW, as you said, the fish in the pix is actually a Baenschi (99% sure?). I posted it in cichlids forum and got quite some positive feedback on its ID. Have you ever had Baenschi before? I knew you keep some awesome peacocks in your tank tho.

Hey Sun. You can check out my gallery here (http://aquatic-photography.com/gallery/browseimages.php?c=3&userid=611) and see lots of pix, including my A. Baenschi. Or you can click on the thumbnail below and that should take you to my gallery.

BTW, you can upload pix in your gallery on this site. There are restrictions on how much space you have. Sun, with the G3 I found I either had to add additional lighting to the tank for photoshoots without the flash. I would usually just put the camera on aperture mode and choose the largest aperture so I could to get a decent shutter speed. Setting it at M works fine as well. Possibly bumping the ISO up to 100 or 200 from 50, but I got a lot of noise on the G3 from anything much higher than 100 ISO.

You can also try with the flash if you don't have enough light over the tank. If you use the internal flash though you'll get harsher lighting, but clear sharp pictures and you'll need to take them at a slight angle to the tank glass to avoid flash reflections. I never tried this next technique with the internal flash, but you can diffuse it with paper/kleenex in front of the flash to soften the light.

Anyway, I have to go. I think the power supply on my computer is about to explode. It doesn't sound good

Actually the computer sounds much better now. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'll buy an extra power supply this weekend to replace the one it there now. Glad I could help a little. I look forward to seeing more of your pictures.

I spoke too soon, the computer is making bad noises again  It may just be something vibrating (very loud) inside of the power supply...
