I've been kind of mentally shopping for camera goodies (alas, I'm broke and can't get anything right now :( ).
But after going on vacation, a telephoto lens has jumped up on my list of things I really want to get for my camera (it's right up there with a macro lens now).
So what are some good ones? One of the main things I want to be able to do is take decent/clear photos of wildlife without having to get really close. I'd like to be able to fill the frame better w/o having to crop most of the image out.
For example, this seagull was maybe 15 feet from me and this is the best I could do with my 18-70mm (kit lens).

And there's not a whole lot you can do to make it a good photo.

Same with the bison.
