I added some more light to my tank to try and take some better pics...my battery ran out soon after I got everything set up. Heres a shot I liked though. What do you all think?

hey Tig, nice bass, and the photo is def. better. The only thing I see is that the colors are a bit off, with a green tint, definitely a white balance issue. I dont know if you can set different white balance settings but try to match it to your lighting.

Here is a version after a quick photoshop color correct:

i agree a little on the green side. i like Ed's rework on the color. the photo is nice and clean. the rocks in the foreground are a slight distraction. also, the fish blends in a little bit with the others in the background. a great start though, keep on practicing these are looking better.

Hi Tig

That looks much better than your first posting. The extra lights has been a benefit. The more light you have the faster the shutter speed (more likely fish will not be blurred) and the smaller the aperature (greater depth of field so more likely entire fish in sharp focus).

Agree about the slight green cast to the shot which Ed has corrected well.

When taking your shots always try and look at what is making up the background so that it does not distract from your main subject.

Looking foward to more pictures.

cheers

Rich

Thanks for the help all,,,i did not notice that green tint! I know its not the best pic composition wise, but i liked how the pbass was completely in focus. I do have a color balance selection. I will try it out next time.

I really like the composition of all three here. The first one still looks a bit underexposed... and maybe slightly out of foucus due to a signicant crop? I like the over sized upper margin on #2. It gives it a bottom dwelling mood to the shot. The one SD behind the pbass is a little distracting. Out of the three, I like #2 the best. The last shot is good schooling capture that I would have enjoyed more if you could have gotten all the fish in the frame.

Good job with ps editing.

I think the first one looks like that because I zoomed in. With my camera,,,"zooming in" distorts the photo a bit. I have no clue why all the photos came out to be different sizes. Thanks for the opinions though, they really help me out.

Nice job on these last three. Keep on snapping away.

As for why the photos are coming in at different size, it's due to photobucket. Photobucket will compress files if they are larger than 250k. In other words, keep them under 250k and you'll be fine.
