IMHO this is the best fish picture I've taken yet. Unfortunatly I had some flash reflections.

I cropped it and tried to remove the flash reflection but didn't do a very good job

I love the way the colors came out in the fish.
The exif data is
Focal length 7mm
F/6, 1/60 sec., ISO 100, metering-matrix
I was in manual mode at macro auto focus.
Not sure how to make this better. I wish I could get rid of all the background.

This is a good effort, it's a nice clear photo of a lovely fish. A real Photoshop expert might do a better job of removing the flash, but you can practise and improve your skill here.
You are always going to have problems when the flash is on the camera. A lens hood might help, so would getting the camera closer to the front glass - if you can focus close enough and the fish will tolerate it. Diffusing the flash with a paper tissue will soften the lighting, but it won't solve the reflection problem.
Keep trying :-)

A tighter crop is ncessary. As far as reflections, those are easily removed, specially when most of the background is black. I used the dodge and burn tools to even out the exposure (as much as I could) it works much better from the large original than from the small web image.

What do you think?

Heres a link to the original.
I think what you did was a lot better than my fix. Thank you for taking the time.
I will keep trying to take better photos that don't NEED fixing.
