I dont know if the color on the fish is right, but it looks VERY well exposed. The plant and the item on the left seem a tiny bit HOT. Did you use flash from the top?

Also, you can use the blur tool to get rid of those micro particles, would look a lot better.

Hm.. from the plant shadows it looks like it was mounted on the camera. But the hot spots to the right says otherwise..

A little PS and this could turn out good. Needs to be cropped a bit.

Hi John!

I like the fish a lot and the shot is nice. But i would crop the image to centralise the fish and clone out some of the noise.

I like this photo (and it's a beautiful fish too ;)). I particularly like the way the plant is visible through the caudal. I agree with WillyW's comments about cropping and cloning. The flash placing looks like a pretty good compromise, but it might have done better with a little more diffusion (to blur the shadows a little more and even out the exposure on the plant). Of course a second flashgun would give you a range of lighting possibilities.
My only criticism is that I would prefer to see a full profile of the fish, without the foreshortening caused by its head being closer to the camera than the tail - but that's very much a personal preference - I'm sure many others will disagree.
