i hate the grain, but i really didnt have any other choice. plus, i just noticed that it looks washed out on the laptop lcd but very nice on my computer... which is also an lcd. i guess this is one advantage that print has over digital (all the monitors look different)

Can you resize it a little smaller please - i cant see the whole thing on my monitor!
not bad. could use more contrast, and a more off center crop. maybe remove some of the space behind the head. i think some minor noise reduction would clean this one up nicely.
Agreed. The noise looks pretty nice on the picture (would make a decent B&W with them in there) and can be removed pretty easily.

It's well seen and well focused :-)
I think the composition could be improved by cropping the left hand side just past the waterline (removing the section with the neck under the water). I agree that some work in Photoshop could make it look much better, but I think B&W would lose the subtleties of the tones.

ill try photoshopping (or rather gimping it for me). the thing that really bugs me is that it looks all washed out on my screen but im sure it looks nicely balanced on my old one, which i had when i first took the picture. there also seems to be this free noise remover that does a really good job. i think i will experiment with it at some point.
