Ok, I have been looking at the 400-500 range for my next camera ( I'm a poor Air Force Airmen lol) I really really want a 717 for my first real "photographer's camera" and I have found them in my range easily. I wanted to know if this sounds like a good idea or if I should go with a less complicated camera next and work my way up. I am slightly versed in the ways and terms of photography, but I am constantly meeting things I don't know and have to study to understand. Is the 717 simplified enough so that my level of knowledge would suffice in using it?
