I realized we did not have a Critique Corner in the General Area, and with so many of us really expanding to other stuff, I thought it was appropriate to start one, and here is my first entry, tear it up!

Good observation Ed. I'm sure it will be used frequently now.
Sorry, but this shot doesn't do much for me. Three Canada geese in the sentinel pose is not exactly unusual to see. The vertical frame and crop also is not comfortable for me. I think I would have expressed the right margin more to illustrate the guards are looking out for the flock. Jmo.

Even though these are side profiles, my eyes doesn't travel out of the frame. It travels through the gees. Which is a good thing. But a little more DOF would make it better.

Great idea Ed - the general critique area will get a lot of use.
Your photo is nice but you have decapitated the third ducks head which is a shame. Have you tried a tighter square crop for these guys? Might work a bit better.
Also - what is that stuff on the ground/grass in front of the ducks.
