These are pics I took of leaves on a sludge pond at the abandoned coal company.I think they look pretty neat...what are your thoughts?

i think they look neat also. i think a polarizer would help cut down on the reflection a little bit. would really help the leaves to stand out a little more. really neat though how they look like they are attached to the reflections of the branches. great eye.

Awesome, I like 1 and 3 the most.
The leaves looks like they're hanging on to the reflections :)

Well seen! I like these a lot; the second is marginally my favourite. I don't usually disagree with hir0, but I wouldn't want to reduce the reflections here, indeed one of the reasons I prefer the second shot is that the surface is marginally brighter.
A polariser is a colourless filter that can be rotated to reduce the brighteness of reflections (from water surfaces etc) and to deepen the colour of the sky in certain circumstances. It's made of the same material as Polaroid sunglasses.

#1 for me. That is a top image. Very interesting. Draws the viewer right into it.
Thanks! I'm so glad that you all feel these the way I do :D

I like them all. 3 is very good due to the detail of the leaves nect to the bland look of the water. However, 2 is the best, great defined reflections that stand out, brightly coloured leaves with that one red one. That tips it off. It almost like the one left out of the group, gives the photo a character. Very nice
