It would be nice the have a more user friendly pload tool for gallery pictures. Now I only can upload 5 at a time and have to keep track of where I was, and so on. I visited a local exhibition of a fish club, but dumped them in shutterfly, because I did not like to upload all 38 pictures in groups of 5... Yes, again I'm being lazy, but if it could be arranged, it would be nice. I someone is interested in the pictures: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EYtmTJs2aMOe

Oh and I was trying the new 60mm glass, so they are not all as great as I wished...

Ed, i wonder is there a way to have it setup to allow zip files? like how pbase is, you can just zip your images up and then upload. pbase unzips them for you and puts them in your gallery.

It does take a while to load in groups of five, but I think I very seldom load that many at a time any way. Adding new pix to the gallery should be very particular and only the best of your efforts. Not all shots qualify. And if you are loading pix for a post, we suggest you keep it to five or less images anyway.

As for your new lens. The Nikon 60mm f/2.8d AF Micro is a wonderful lens. There is nothing sharper out there (than it's companion the 105mm micro). It took me a little while to realize that this lens misses nothing. It will pick up any small microcrosm piece of detail....and distraction in the frame. You have to really concentrate on holding it very steady when hand held. If not, you are wasting the benefits of this great macro lens. The colors are better than anything else I have too.

When flash shooting, try higher shutter speeds and lower (higher numbers) of f/stops with this lens. You will see faster improvements with these settings.

I browsed your hosting site and you took some nice shots at the fish club. Not an easy test for your new lens because of less than ideal setups.

Enjoy.

I haven't tried it in quite a while but when I tried to upload more than 1 before it only did the first one anyway . It was quite a while ago and I haven't tried since .

I already found out that higher numbers give somewhat better results, also, the steady hand is much more important with this lens compared with others.

As for the upload tool. It might be a thing with my computer, but with every one of the 5 pictures I have to browse all the way to the folder I store my pictures in and then find out I can't remeber which on I already had. The path is hidden in the entry field, so I can't go back there. It's no big deal, but if there is an easier way to do it, that would be nice.

All my pictures are stored in about a hundred folders in My Pictures on a external harddrive. I save all of them with the creation date as well as numeric and alphabetec file name. The numerical number is first, so when the browser opens the folder I am uploading from, I know where to go and find the images to upload.

Ron, for multiple uploads. Browse the first one and double click it to place it in the upload box. Then go to the next browse box and repeat until you have done all five. Never a problem for me...yet. ;)

Here is the situation. When we chose the gallery software, one of the requirements was seemless integration with the Vbulletin software. There are only 3 choices available, and this one was the best available, trust me, I checked around a LOT.

Neither offers upload of zips, or a download tool. I can see if I can increase the number of images "at a time" but that is about it. Now, it also offers FTP upload, but "SORRY" i am not allowing people on our server :) That is more for Admins to upload stuff quickly.

The best way to upload images is to click on the navbar on Gallery / My Gallery, and when it takes you there, you can upload from that page, then the images will go into the right place. If you are a Contributing member, and have ability to create sub-folders, then you go to the individual sub-folder and UPLOAD from there. If you are in the right place, the software assumes you want it in that place.
