To make a long story short.

I have successfully mounted a DK-17m magnifying eyepiece to my D70s.

I am just posting this for other D70/D70s that may have an interest.

There is a very very long thread about this on NikonCafe if you want to read more about it.

Here are the final results:

Basically, you just sand or scrape the heck out of the 2370 until the DK-17m fits into the hole. You will have to move quite a bit of plastic to get it to work.

Ok - I am not perfect and had some boo-boo's too.
1) I did not scrape plastic out of the 2370 and try to force the DK-17m into the hole. I broke/cracked the bottom part of the 2370. Ooopps!! I fixed this by superglueing DK-17m into the 2370.

2) While scraping out the 2370 I broke the small tabs on the outer part of the 2370 that holds the eyepiece adapter to the camera. I fixed this by superglueing back the tabs. Just be careful when you hold the 2370 and not press hard on the tabs.

I will probably get another 2370 at some point and use and take a little extra time to do the process. I also did this very late at night 2am and was tired and in a hurry. But hey, it is working just fine for now.

I will post some more comments in a couple of days of use. I was hoping that doing macro work would be a little easier and I have not had a chance to try yet. I am not saying either way just yet just need to experiment for a couple of days.
