I'm not sure if/how well this will work, but it's my suggestion:
Try taking a picture from as close to the cage as you can, and focus on a bird on the other side of the cage. I've tried similar things taking pictures through wire fences. When you focus on something behind the fence/wire cage even though the wire is between the lense and the subject it tends to disappear (or mostly disappear) because it's not in focus. It may also help if you zoom in to decrease the depth of field. I'm not sure how well this will work on a smaller scale with your birds, but hopefully it does.

Opps i forgot, the way i did it was to reduce the field of view (appeture) then got as close to the cage as possible ( i think it was nearly touching) and then i focused on the bird. [smilie=laugh.gif] easy as that? i think i got lucky.
The first one is perfect, clean as can be, the second one is actually kind of cool like that, nice effect but the cage is still a bit distracting in pure "see the bird only" way.

The second one will be better if the eyes were not blocked by the cage.
I took the top picture through the cage...that was the intention of the pics [smilie=huh.gif]
maybe if the cage was in focus and the bird was'nt. that would be a nice pic too i think. [smilie=biggrin.gif]
Cool bird photo of the 1st one. Think you already knew how to manipulate your camera. Congrats.
