I just tried to reply to another thread and couldn't get the "Bold, Italic and Smilies" to work in my message board?
Is it a IE problem? Or a Bobby problem?

bobby, the whole WISYWIG editor is NOT working right now, in reply or in quick reply, it's frozen, and I cant figure out why
It's an APF Problem :) It's on my list to do. Thanks for heads up.
EVERYONE please give suggestions too. I am very interested in really amping up APF, as you can see it's already insanely much more aggressive and quick.

Another peculiarty is the "red X" box under my avatar on the upper right hand side of the portal page showing my id? I can't remember what was there before, but I don't remember a red X.

Glad to be your fresh set of eyes, although my are kinda bloodshot after a couple Christmas parties this weekend.
Smilies are still not working though.

Bobby,
Smilies are working.
It is the editor that its not working.
test -> :) :lol:
Hey Ed, the newest addition to the forum (before the switch over), auto resizing of images, no longer works.
paradise
12-18-2005, 10:48 PM
I know , eric, there is no available image resize script for 3.5 yet
paradise
12-19-2005, 4:12 AM
OK, everything except for the unavailable Resize Script and the good old "guests can not see images" scripts is now working. Let me know if you see anything else out of whack. We are almost done with total upgrade :)
hey ed. none of the little icons for the messages work for me in quick or advanced mode. bold, italic, smileys, etc...

I just cleaned my cache and I can't login on the Portal Page:confused:
hir0, the icons on the right side don't work for me either. But the ones in the dropdown box next to the smilie icon work.:-O

Hiro, try again, that was the problem yesterday, fixed about 12:00 am last night :), works fine for me.

Bobby, yeah, you are right. The portal logins dont show you logged ,but if you click on "FORUM" you ARE logged in. It's not a big deal but I will try and fix it. :)
ALso, all the buttons work except for the smilie box for some reason. I will have to look into that.
BTW, you know there are two modes to the editors (both quick and reg)? Click on the a/A button on the right side. One way you type like before, using BBCodes ([b],...) and the other way is 100% WISYWIG like Microsoft Word. Awesome.

Is it possible to match the colored fonts with the APF team screenname?
Advice Team would be like this
And you and Jay's would be like this
And all the mods would be like this

I dont know what you mean. You mean when we type our posts, do it in those colors? I Think that it would get too "LOUD" and obnoxious with all different colors all over. Alan loves to use THIS COLOR when typing (I think) but it's because he's OLD :) and can't see very well :) (J/K)

Since your upgrade anyone with multiple contest wins has their bio area stretched. Linking to a screen shot cause I didn't size it down, I use the Opera Browser.

LOL, yeah, my freakin' bane, the Opera browser, I use it too, and love it for the most part, but the thing just does not know how to handle tables. I have to look at these weird screens too. Every other browser is fine, and follows the Column Size code, but opera is weird. Dont know how to fix it yet, I have tried it 15 different ways. :)

I've not worked with vbulletin, but it seems putting a line break between each award should do the trick, it's just centering the images and ignoring the table width. Course that's likely easier said than done most of the time with php scripts.

I can't access my gallery, it asks me to log - in but it doesn't seem to accept it. Therefore at the moment I can't upload or delete any images.
Are there going to be any changes to allow users to access their own gallery photos more easily?
Cheers
Rich

Rich, that is another one that is "new" to me :) Something is wrong with gallery/portal login, they are all part of the same package, I will look into it more seriously in the next 24 hrs.

Bobby, you are no longer a guest on the portal, that problem has been fixed. Now working on the big Gallery Upload problem.

Rich, Please try now. As far as I know the problem has been 100% fixed. Let me know if there are any other errors.
Looks like I am clear for now, until someone else finds something else for me to fix.

Looks great now thanks.
there seems to be some sort of conflict going on with default 'Default Thread Age Cut Off' and articles. Is there a way we can make articles exempt from the age cut off? If it's set to 2 days like mine is, nothing shows up in the articles section.
paradise
12-26-2005, 2:29 PM
Hiro, please explain more. The Articles section should have 3 subfolders, each of which then opens not as a regular thread folder, but as an Article system folder with graphic display of articles and previews. Is that correct? I changed one setting, dont know if that did anything. LMK

I've got a question. Am I not seeing the gallery posting area near the post tablet? You know, the box where we can open our gallery and post images in our posts without having to open another ie window.

yeah, Bobby, I want that feature back to, just like before, it was a third party Modification, that is not YET available for the new version of software. I am totally monitoring new Modifications coming out, so as soon as it hits it will be here.
BTW, I dont know if people notice it but almost daily something new is added to APF, whether it's behind the scenes or cosmetical, or security issues. Just today, I added back the "no IMG viewed by Guests" and "profile info unavailable to Guests" so that only registered users could see photos and be able to contact other members.
