I've been using Save for Web, but that kills all the EXIF. Is there away to keep the EXIF and use save for web?
When using Save As, I need to convert to 8-bit and then locate the folders from the RAW directory...bah...

How do you save??

I thought you couldn't get the exif info on JPG.

I use "save as", and the folder I store all my web images in is a subfolder of the raw images folder. If you use save for the web there is no way to save the exif info.

I dont think that is true. The info is only lost after a certain amount of manipulations.

Jpgs can contain exif data. I am guessing you are using CS2? Eventhough I do not use CS2 I remember seeing something about "Save for Web" which, I believe will not save EXIF information but, using "Save As" will retain the EXIF information.

Ohhhh duhhhh. I did not notice this was in the Photoshop Forum. Well my assumption was correct then. LOL.

I usually use PSE or NC4 and both can convert from RAW(NEF) to JPG and retain EXIF info.

i used to save as, but it makes the files too big so lately i've been saving for web @ 75%.
save as will retain exif information.

Correct, "save for web" strips exif info. I just redid my pbase gallery with save as so that the exif info is retained. I just use "save as" instead at anywhere between 5 to 8 in quality (the pictures are just for casual viewing and not printing anyways). Resized at 640 pixels on the long side, it gets the pictures to around 100k or less.

Alex,

What about that script that we were using before ? Downside is that you SEE the actual data on the frame.

I use a FANTASTIC framing script that was created by a user on "Canon Digital Photography Forum" and is located here:

Highly recommended as it has a GUI and can be completely configured to show Exif in the photo or not.....
