What do you think of the conversion and does it work as a stand alone image?

I'm not the best judge on shots like these. It looks very solemn. Maybe a little too dark?
Agreed, it looks a bit underexposed. If you brightened it up a bit, it's actually quite nice, although a bit flat. Also, take a look at the histogram if you get the chance. Might want to push it further to the right.

Lastly, whether it is strong enough or not, can't really say. I would actually want to compare this to the colored version. Your series had some very nice blues in the formations, which would look beautiful in print.
great shot. The original is too dark and too flat. Eric's version is spot on IMO.

Yes, definetely like the brighter more contrasty (is that a word?) version. I think that brings the shot to life.

Exactly my thoughts when looking at the original, looked too hazy. The contrast makes it much more interesting. A great capture either way, Steve. Looks like you had a great trip.
