View Full Version : Any suggestions/comments please
Here is the pic of one of my new Bettas that I had entered in the photo contest over on TR. Please offer any suggestions/comments on lighting, composition, or other things...remembering that at this point I have everything on autofocus. Haven't had time to look over my camera manual yet, so just kind of point and shoot at present. (Hope to have my Pentax K-1000 and macro-zoom lense fixed and back soon; use 64 slide film and then scan onto computer...if I can find the slide film and a developer :-/
O.k., so here's the pic. "Pic(k)" away

Try this Fran . I went to the BB image code and highlighted it , then copy and pasted it . Their may be a better way but that is how I do it .

Thanks, Ron. I'll give it a try next time, although the link that ended up in my original post takes you to the pic as well.
Glad everyone is patient !
Looks like a good start, Fran. Is it the compression or is the eyes just slightly out of focus (OOF)?
Also, if you get the chance to, try to upload slightly larger pictures. Something at 640 pixels on the wide end would make it easier to figure out the details. From this, it looks like it's pretty well lighted, but can't tell anything else (other than it looks like it's in some sort of bowl/tank with some lucky bamboo in it).
Thanks, Eric! Yes, it was when I had my guys in a bowl; they now reside in 2.5g tanks each (I have 4 at the moment).
Sorry the pic is so small; I cropped it and resized it so it would fit on the TR photo contest; may be able to look through my Picassa and get a larger version.
Eye OOF? Not sure. I think there is a "glint" in his eye from the way the light is hitting, but then, too, I wonder if it could be some problem with his eye as now I notice a similar thing on one of my other Bettas.
BTW, lucky bamboo actually grows quite well immersed :D
