Blair, it's a nice photo, though if I were to give you some critique, I would say that it's tough to find the subject, as it's small against a large and much more exciting, colourfull background. Took me a few seconds to figure out what you meant. A closer zoom or crop would do wonders for this shot.

I agree... I find my eye bouncing back and forth from the lizard to the purple flowers. I see what you were trying to do, I would have done the same, but I think the two subjects are competing with eachother. Kewl find.

great feedback already. I agree - the background is way busy if the lizard is supposed to be the main subject. He kind of gets lost in the image. closer framing with a longer focal length might help to throw the other elements a little out of focus. also, the lighting is kinda harsh on the rock area.

Couple of other comments.

Cropped the poor fella's tail off there. Also, it's smacked dab in the middle left there; moving it to the lower or upper thirds would make a stand out further.
