Started raining and shutter speed dropped dramatically. One of the instances when I wish Nikon made a 300mm f/4 AFS with VR (other than the first two shots, the rest from this thread was shot handheld).

Beautiful shots Eric. I love the bad hairday/pin cushion bird. I'm curious. Did you add contrast or did they come out off the camera that way? If you use parameter 1 on the 20D the camera adds contrast and other things and they look similar.

It's during the post, Ron. Shooting in RAW gives you a pretty flat picture and some of the levels were adjusted.

Just wondered Eric. Sure looks like the D200 is quite a camera. Of course its only as good as the person behind it. I have used RAW from day one. I don't think my camera has more than a couple dozen that weren't shot in RAW.

Like the eagle shot the best here.

Yeah, the camera is a nice tool in the right hands.:-D

Yeah, that secretary bird was very interesting. If only the glass on the exhibit was as clean as the one used for the gorillas.

Thought I had more pictures and I guess I did. :) Forgot to process them, so here they are.

Very nice and very clean shots Eric. I love numbers 1 & 4. I won't comment on the love birds.
I've noticed everyone that had a D70 that was good with it and got a D200 seems to be putting out a little better picture now. Not that their pictures weren't very good before but they all seem a little crisper or something. Can't put my finger on it but they just have an added something. I wonder is it just me or can anyone else see it?

Sweet Eric,

I'm seeing fairly "high contrast" on few of those pictures. What lens did you use ?

Probably because we've been shooting a lot of pictures; it's all about practicing.

Jay, used the 300mm f/4 AFS on these. They're all stopped down to f/5.6 and for once I didn't use any TCs on them.
